Geek Alert!

So, I have been working off and on for the last couple months on a script which will be the template for a bunch of administrative scripts. Yesterday, I get the word from my boss that it is now my highest priority due to some things that are coming up this weekend. So last night, just as I was about to call it quits, I get it working. It is going to be so nice.

This script right now just reads the Directory Service for a list of servers and then goes out and checks which ones are actually up (because otherwise the script will have to timeout whenever it hits a server that is down, which takes forever). The next step it to add in the functions I need it to perform, which is actually the easy part, like reboots, or password changes for services, or restarting services. And then reporting back on success or failure.

Friday night after work I am going to Seattle spend the weekend with my wonderful friends ocicat and lady_equine with the rest of my family.
