Given all problems with 6A of late, I have been seriously considering going somewhere else or hosting my own journal/blog. I noticed that [livejournal.com profile] hopeforyour was talking about this issue too, and thinking of some of the same issues as I was. The community aspect of LJ is the main one. But given my geeky nature, I immediately start thinking of ways to get around these problems (because they should be merely technical).

I seem to remember reading or hearing about journal/blog aggregators. The one I know about is Feedburner which I can use with WordPress so i can set up our own blog site. Does anyone have any info, preferences, alternatives, etc. so that we don't have to rely on 6A or any other corporation which may go down unexpected, change it TOS, or otherwise fail to meet our needs?

Certainly all valid reasons to consider a move. [livejournal.com profile] ogambear has mentioned difficulties of other blog communities that LJ seems a better alternative to, but if you can't get the content up in the first place, what's the point?

Well, the beside the fact that the 6A folks are being A#$holes, if they do delete communities and block by IP, then we wouldn't be able to access our non-fiction related journals, like this one.
