So, I was reading this article about the how Google is using Linux. I know some about Linux, and various flavors of UNIX. But what I want to know is how it is (or is planned to be) used as a desktop in an enterprise environment. The article talks about some of the hacks Google is using to extend Linux and make it more amenable to working as a desktop in an enterprise environment. But what it lacked, and what I am looking for more info on, is Directory Service authentication, and automation tools for Linux in an enterprise. Especially LDAP, Kerberos, and scripting tools. Any info, links or docs would be great. Also, info on integration between Windows and Linux at the enterprise level would be nifty too.
