Wonderful birthday party last night
Dec. 7th, 2003 07:31 pmWe had a great party last night. It was my birthday, and we were celebrating
uncledark's bday as well. And then
tobyiceblueeyes and her spouse and kid showed up, and it was her bday too! A triple bday party!
We had 30 guests as the party, and I believe more than half of them had LJ accounts. At one point, while giving a tour, there were ten of us in the library, and I suggested a LJ mickey mouse roll call, since I knew all the people in that room were on LJ.
I want to especially thank
rosefox and the rest of the house dreamland folks for wonderful presents and presence.
rosefox gave me a very nice scalp massage which greatly help the migraine I have had for 4 days now. I'd also like to thank
akienm and
dawnd for wonderful presents. Oh, and
rkitten27 and
fuzzydragon for the DVD. I got to talk to friends I haven't seen in quite some time, and it was really good to reconnect.
beanolc tell your hubby I said hi and congrats on the job. There were many other presents and probably others I should thank as well. I will try to remember and be good about saying something. I was a bit overwhelmed at the party. I wasn't expecting so many people.
Today has been slow and rough. The migraine slowly returned, and I have not been very productive. There have been arguments and general yuckiness, but things are getting better for me after 1000mg of ibuprofen, dinner and stopping for a movie.
Tomorrow I start my second week at my new job. Much to do and lots to learn about the clients and what is going on. But it is good to be employed again.

Happy Birthday Troy!
Date: 2003-12-08 09:14 pm (UTC)Regarding the migraines, I find that I suffer from them more often at 33 than I ever did. I have to be careful about my caffeine consumption because if I drink 2 cups of coffee a day and only have one cup one day it will spawn a migraine. I haven't tried it yet, but I have heard that the herb feverfew is good for migraines, also fish oil which you can buy in capsule form, also drink plenty of water, dehydration will cause them too. I recently heard a study that said people who suffered from depression were more likely to get migraines and vice versa, thwy haven't established the specific connection but I would have to say it had something to do with the way the person's body reacts at a physiological level, to stress. I also have bouts with depression and take medication for it every day. Glad you had such a great bday. You're lucky that your LJ community extends to real life.
