Playfirst, the very fun game development company I work for, has several position open. The one that we need to fill as a high priority though is a Senior Software Enginner for the Mac platform. We develop games for Mac and PC and we lost our Mac developer and we could really use a good person in that position.



Senior Software Engineer (Mac)

PlayFirst is the leading casual game publisher of innovative, award-winning games made for casual gamers wherever they play. Our games reach consumers on 500 sites in 35 countries, as well as on retail shelves and mobile phones. Our portfolio of games includes the record-breaking hit Diner Dash which has sold more than 2 million copies worldwide.

Founded in 2004 by veterans of Internet portals, traditional games publishers, entertainment software, and technology firms, PlayFirst is funded by venture capital firms Mayfield Fund, Trinity Ventures and Rustic Canyon Partners. PlayFirst, Inc is headquartered in downtown San Francisco.

Job Description:
The Senior Software Engineer works directly with a cross-functional team of engineers, producers, artists, and QA engineers to port and develop award winning and world class casual games. The Senior Software Engineer for the Mac will ensure that all PlayFirst games run on the Mac, which includes maintenance and further development of PlayFirst's Playground SDK, and fixing bugs as they arise in both old and new titles. This position requires a highly focused and organized individual that is able to manage their own time with the aim of keeping track of several concurrent deliverables and meeting product release deadlines. We are looking for a proactive and results-driven individual who pays great attention to detail.

Responsibilities:
Ensure PlayFirst can simultaneously release all games with a Macintosh and Windows version
Port and maintain existing Playground SDK and underlying technologies for the Mac
Estimate project duration, and ability to meet agreed upon timelines
Requirements
Solid OpenGL programming experience
Expert level C++ in a Mac environment
Objective-C
Solid on both Carbon and Cocoa API's
Demonstrated ability to adhere to scheduled and team-agreed timelines
Demonstrated strong knowledge of object-oriented design and implementation
Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills
Must be a team player and be responsible for individual assignments within the team
4 or more years experience professional software development
3 or more years experience C++ development
Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Computer Science
Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
Preferred
Mac WebKit experience
Mac SDK CoreAudio
Experience with cross-platform product development
Experience with embedded scripting languages (lua, ruby, python, perl, etc.)
Experience developing and deploying networked multiplayer games
Salary-to be determined by education and experience
