Bad news at the Rabbit Warren
Apr. 25th, 2003 12:51 amFor those of you not on our Rabbit Village list, I thought I would throw this out there. It has been a long rough day. I will post more tomorrow.
Dawn slipped on the steps on the deck and broke her left leg. Both bones are broken and it looks like they will have to do surgery to pin or plate. We will know more tomorrow when we talk to the Orthopedic doctor. Our friend Margaret is staying the night with Dawn at the hospital.
This will probably modify some of our plans for the next couple months. We won't know what we will have to change until Dawn is back home and we can figure out how well we can accommodate her needs and still handle our other plans. We will let you all know where we are at and ask for help and input as we try to get things working.
Thanks,
The Rabbits

Date: 2003-04-25 07:01 am (UTC)My thoughts are with you.
Having been in more than my share of casts, see if she can get a fiberglass one. They're much more comfortable. Also, the hose on the vacuum when held up to the cast produces a lovely cooling effect.
If she needs lessons on how to walk on crutches, I'm game. I'm also available during the day, so if you need anything, holler. 415-303-0424 voicemail, 415-518-6151 cell.

Date: 2003-04-25 09:17 am (UTC)I'm not sure what my/our schedule looks like over the next couple weeks since it involves packing and moving, but if I'm over your way and can help, I'd like to.
*hugs* to all the Rabbits

Date: 2003-04-25 03:08 pm (UTC)I wonder if Dawn will actually have to slow down now? Naww...
As you start to figure out your changed plans, remember that we really want to see the rabbit family up here this summer if she's up to it. Don't worry about the expense side of it this time around... it's important to us to see you guys, and we'll do what we have to in order to make it happen.
Love and support

I just got an email from Dawn about the Tea Party being postponed. We went on the Wine Train tonight anyway, so maybe next Thursday will work out better for at least a few of us.
All the best wishes for quick healing to her, and, uh... does she maybe need to check on her bone health, or was it really just a nasty fall?
Luv ya, and take care -- all of you! Talk to ya soon.
